Can I get my high school diploma?

Sure you can! Here's how adult education does this:

  • Lisbon Adult & Community Education has a High School Diploma Program on file approved by the Lisbon School Committee and the State of Maine Department of Education Adult Education Office.
  • Lisbon School Department graduation requirements are the most restrictive between the State of Maine and therefor adult education diploma students must complete 20 credits to graduate. What are they?
  • All of your teachers are fingerprinted and certified to teach in their content area.
  • When you register we will complete a Individual Learning Plan with you.
  • In order to earn one credit you will need to complete 45 contact hours of work or the equivalent.
  • We will have a curriclum plan on file for all of the courses you take here.
  • We will evaluate your progress throughout the semester and the school year.
  • We will have a look at your transcripts from other schools to see what you can transfer into your diploma program.
  • You will need to complete at least one credit here in order to complete a Lisbon School Department diploma.
  • You may be able to test out of up to 4 content areas in which you feel competent. What is your GED/HiSET worth?
  • You can get credit for many out-of-school experiences through Prior Learning Assessment
